Hide certain data points from showing for sensor

Some sensors send many data points with each new reading. In certain situations you may not wish all the readings to be displayed so you can focus on the ones that matter most. For example, you may have a Carbon Monoxide sensor that also reports Temperature and Humidity in the room, but you really only care about the CO level.

It is possible to control the display of which data points are shown from the device’s Settings tab.

  • Hiding data points from the UI does not stop their collection - you can always turn them back on without loss of data.

  • Which data points are shown is controlled for each sensor individually.

  1. Click or tap on the sensor you want to adjust - this will open the sub-tab options for the sensor.

  2. Go to the Device Settings tab.

  3. Locate the Readings Displayed section.

  4. Use the controls to enable (show) or disable (hide) specific data points.

  5. Don’t forget to Save your changes.

Readings which are hidden will no longer appear in the dashboard UI.

Only Temperature is displayed after hiding the other readings

When you hide a data point, it will be hidden everywhere in the application for that sensor. For example if you hide the Humidity data point for a sensor, and it has Humidity alerts set up, they will be hidden from the Alerts list. Reports will not show Humidity for that device either.
