What happens if one of my monitoring locations loses power or loses Internet connection?
In the event that one Gateway loses power, any nearby LoRa gateway will be used by sensors in range. Sensors are not paired to any particular gateway, they simply broadcast outward, and any online gateway within range will relay their transmissions when it hears them.
If ALL nearby gateways are offline, normal transmission of readings will only resume once Internet connectivity is restored.
Cellular Gateway options are available for facilities where additional Internet connectivity options is desirable, and most cellular gateway models support Ethernet fail-over
Some of our devices support Local Backup which is a feature that stores up to a week’s worth of data while offline and will transmit missed readings recorded during an Internet outage once they have reconnected online.
