My Sensor is showing as Offline
The following will help troubleshoot and resolve Gateway or Device Offline status.
Tips for Devices showing Offline
Verify Gateway is online
Gateways are receivers that relay sensor data to our platform via the internet. If the gateways are offline, the sensors cannot communicate.
Verify that your Gateway device is powered on and connected to the Internet. Sensors are not paired to any specific gateway – they instead broadcast outward and any gateway in listening range will relay the broadcast . If there aren’t any gateways online in range, sensors will drop offline eventually.

Verify Connectivity to nearest Gateway
Next, verify that your Gateway is in range of your devices – interference between the gateway and sensor devices may prevent sensor data from being successfully communicated. If possible, try moving the gateway or device position closer to each other until communication resumes.
Try Resetting the sensor
If the sensor is still offline, try resetting and re-activating the sensor. Performing the activation process on the sensor will ask it to connect or “Join” to the nearest gateway, and in most cases it will transmit a new reading to the app that will help you verify it did connect. Please refer to the instructions for the sensor - activation is different for each sensor.
Instructions for each sensor model can be found on the web dashboard by clicking or tapping on a device, then going to it’s Settings tab. From there, click on the Resources tab to get helpful reset/activation/troubleshooting steps relevant to that sensor. If no resources are listed for a sensor in the web application, please contact Support for these details.
Troubleshooting: Sensor keeps jumping between Online & Offline
The number one cause of a sensor jumping between online & offline is poor connectivity to a nearby gateway.
In an ideal installation, every deployed sensor will be monitored for at least 24 hours to ensure 100% transmission of data with good signal strength (-99 dBm or better). If this is not achieved, you can try repositioning the sensor / gateway to ensure good connectivity.
Please see How to verify Sensors are transmitting regularly or on specific intervals for additional tips on how to check a sensor’s signal strength, verify if a sensor is transmitting all readings, and how to troubleshoot further.
