How can I control the number of alerts that I receive?
If you still want alert notifications, but they’re coming your way too frequently, we recommend using Alert Rules to control how often your alert triggers. This allows you to continue to receive alert notifications for your sensors, but you can also limit these notifications in scenarios where your sensor is only briefly out of bounds.
In the Location which contains the alerting device, go to Menu → Alerts

Locate the Alert that is triggering too frequently and click on the Edit (pencil) icon.

Go to the Conditions section in the settings that appear. Click on the + button in the Rules(Optional) section to start adding a rule.

Don’t send alert notifications between lets you define a time range when the alert will not send text message or email notifications. This may be useful outside of business hours or in the middle of the night. The system will continue to log sensor readings in this window.
Only alert if condition remains for allows you to set a number of minutes that the sensor must be out of range before triggering an alert. This is useful for avoiding false alarms during defrost cycles or short periods where the door to a refrigerator/freezer may be open in typical daily use.
Don’t forget to click Save on both the rule itself and then the underlying alert to save the changes to your alert!
